A delegation led by Prof. Nicola CLAYTON, the Founding Director of the Cambridge Centre for the Integration of Science, Technology and Culture (CCISTC), visited the University of Macau (UM) Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) on 9 Mar. They were warmly received by FHS Dean Chuxia DENG and Associate Professor Terence Chuen Wai POON.

Prof. Poon provided the delegation with a guided lab tour, and introduced the facilities and services of the Animal Research Core and the Proteomics, Metabolomics and Drug Development Core. The guests gained a preliminary understanding of the faculty’s scientific research and infrastructure through watching the promotional video.

Subsequent to the lab tour, both parties joined a meeting for further discussions. Prof. Poon shared the teaching model, academic programmes and the research achievements of FHS with the delegation. Assistant Professors Robert David SMITH and Chen MING delivered a presentation about their research work and relevant achievements to the guests. Prof. Clayton also made an introduction of CCISTC and expressed their intention to develop a closer relationship with FHS in various collaborations, such as student exchange programmes, academic seminars, joint research projects, etc. Both parties looked forward to work out the official cooperation in the near future.
