Talk title  Why Lysine Has So Many PTMs?
Speaker Prof. Y. Eugene CHIN
Professor, Dean of Soochow University Medical College
Soochow University
Date & Time 06 Nov 2019 (Wed)
17:15-18:15
Venue Room G002, N22 Building (University of Macau)
Abstract Lysine is perhaps the most active residue in terms of post-translational modifications. It can be neutralized by acetylation or maintains its positive charge by methylation. Prof. LU finds that Lysine can undergo acetylation and 4HNE and carbamylation modifications and this carbamylation modification is involved in T cell activation. CAB is the enzyme responsible for carbamylation whereas DCAB is for its decarbylation.
