Abstract | Prof. Xiao-Ning Xu qualified in Medicine from Capital Medical University (Beijing) in 1984 and obtained his Ph.D. in Clinical Immunology in 1992 from Flinders Medical Centre (Australia). After that, he became the fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (FRCPA) in 1999. He then joined the group of Prof. Sir Andrew J. McMichael as NHMRC research fellow at Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine, University of Oxford.
Over the last two decades, Prof. XU served as Medical Research Council (MRC) Senior Clinical Scientist, project leader, and tenured programme leader at MRC Human Immunology Unit, Oxford University, where he led research projects involving immune correlates of protection against emerging infectious diseases including HIV, SARS, and avian influenza. In 2010. He joined Novartis as the Head of Novartis Vaccines Research China, Novartis Vaccines & Diagnostics based in Shanghai. In 2013, he became the Chair professor in Hitman Immunology at the Imperial College London based at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital. |
