The first-ever FHS symposium, entitled “University of Macau: Symposium on Biomedical Sciences 2014”, took place on 13 May. Starting from this year, this symposium will be organized annually.
This year, six prominent academics and researchers were invited to deliver talks on Biomedical Sciences. They are Prof. You-Qiang SONG (Associate Professor of the University of Hong Kong); Dr. Wen-Hua ZHENG (Full Professor of Sun Yat-Sen University); Dr. Teng-Chuan JIN (Research Fellow of National Institutes of Health, USA); Dr. Li-Qi LAI (Research Associate of Cornell University, USA); Dr. Tsz-On LEE (Research Assistant Professor of the University of Hong Kong); and Dr. Hong-Jie ZHANG (Instructor of Harvard Medical School, USA). Prof. Wei GE, the Interim Dean of FHS, warmly welcomed the guests and participants as well as delivered keynotes to address the symposium. Participants included scientists and students from Macau and regions nearby.
The Symposium ended with a campus visit.
