Abstract Dr. Risto Juvonen received his Ph.D. in Toxicology at the University of Kuopio, Finland and conducted post-doctoral studies at the National Institutes of Health, U.S.A. He is an eminent researcher and educator in the field to toxicology and has served as a Department Chair and president of the Finnish Society of Toxicology. He is well known for the development and use of fluorescent metabolites to probe hepatic metabolism and function. His seminar will detail recent studies with Scoparone, an active substance of Chinese Herbal Medicine Yin Chen Hao, its metabolism, and comparative toxicology between animals and humans.
