Research Interests
My research interest lies in how the broad environment, including social context and physical environment, shapes individuals’ health using population data. The goal of my research is threefold: 1) elaborate the role of environmental exposures in the development of human diseases, 2) understand the health impact of emerging environmental exposures, and 3) explore how social determinants of health (SDOH) interact with environmental pollutants contributing to the widening health disparities.

My current research focuses on lithium, an emerging environmental exposure, and endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDC). My research leverages large national data as well as in-depth characterized local cohorts. Meanwhile, I am also interested in epidemiology methods, particularly the application of causal inference. I aim to apply novel causal inference methods in my research as well as develop new causal inference methods for environmental epidemiology research.
