A delegation led by Ao ZHANG, Dean of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) School of Pharmacy, visited University of Macau (UM) Faculty of Sciences (FHS) on 27 Mar. They were warmly received by FHS Dean Chuxia DENG, Associate Dean (Research) Renhe XU, Associate Dean (Teaching) Guokai CHEN and Professor Elaine Lai Han LEUNG.
Senior Instructor Li WANG and Operation Manager Joshua CAI guided the guest to the Proteomics, Metabolomics and Drug Development Core and the Animal Research Core and expounded to the guests on the facilities and services provided by the Cores.
Subsequent to the lab tour, a seminar was held to promote collaboration in academic and research collaboration. During the seminar, Prof. Deng presented to the guests about the progress and the accomplishments of FHS and the Ministry of Education Frontiers Science Center for Precision Oncology (FSPO), UM. Prof. Zhang also introduced their faculty. Together with FHS Professor Kathy Qian LUO and Associate Professor Henry Hang Fai KWOK, Prof. Elaine Lai Han LEUNG had in-depth discussion with the delegation to foster collaboration in research, teaching and learning, and knowledge exchange.
Both parties had a discussion on establishing joint study programmes, student exchange programmes and cooperative research projects to forge new pathways for academic and research collaboration. Both parties look forward to holding complementary activities in teaching and learning and in research which will build on the existing strengths of the two faculties and make both stronger together.
