Master of Science in Global Public Health
Programme Description
Global public health is in the field of science that prevents disease, improves health and promotes life quality of the whole population. Global public health covers interdisciplinary study areas that involve knowledge in epidemiology, biostatistics, environmental health, nutrition, food safety, social medicine, health services and risk management. The understanding of global public health is critical for the society to improve public wellbeing and manage the disasters that affect global community.
This Master of Science in Global Public Health Programme aims to educate and train students with knowledge of public health science in a global sense, public health epidemiology, statistical analyses, management of epidemics and health policy, and the associated risk management.
Programme Intended Learning Outcomes
- Be capable of applying the principles of epidemiology methods, evidence-based practice and statistical data analysis of defined populations to evaluate risk factors for disease and targets for preventive healthcare.
- Be capable of defining problems and their corresponding measures to meet the epidemic needs and public health needs worldwide within realistic constraints.
- Be capable of implementing solutions for public health problems and verifying their safety and effectiveness through scientific process.
- Be capable of developing leadership skills required for work in the development, implementation and maintenance of effective, culturally appropriate, and ethical public health programmes and interventions.
