The Faculty of Health Sciences Student Association (FHSSA) of the University of Macau recently held the ninth iteration of the “Health, I Care!” health knowledge quiz competition. The competition aimed to enhance students’ health literacy and promote their knowledge of health in an engaging manner.
After a competitive preliminary round, four teams advanced to the finals, including students from multiple faculties such as FHS, Faculty of Education (FED), Faculty of Business Administration (FBA), and Faculty of Science and Technology (FST). Following several intense rounds of competition, team members demonstrated excellent collaboration, calm adaptability, and precise answering skills, ultimately earning honour for their teams. The team “Poverty is the Primary Productive Force 2.0” emerged victorious, while “Random Answer Team” and “Good Name Team” secured the second and third places, respectively. The audience was also immersed in this knowledge celebration, eagerly responding during the interactive quiz segment, with rounds of applause and laughter throughout. The excitement peaked during the lucky draw segment, adding to the overall enthusiasm. By the end of the event, participants not only gained knowledge but also joy, leaving with a sense of fulfilment.
FHS sophomore student Tongxin XIAO attended the competition as a spectator and found the questions intriguing, often answering along with the contestants on stage. FHS freshman Kejia SHI remarked that this was her first experience watching a quiz competition. She found it very interesting to see the contestants actively answering questions and competing for high scores and prizes, and she is considering registering for the next competition.
“Health, I Care!” not only stimulated students’ passion for exploring health knowledge but also fostered a strong learning atmosphere on campus. Through this competitive format, participants deepened their understanding of practical health knowledge, further enhancing their health literacy. Guests attending the event included FHS Assistant Deans Xuanjun ZHANG and Lijun DI; ICMS Assistant Dean Xiu-Ping CHEN; as well as FHS Associate Professor Ruiyu XIE, and FHS Assistant Professor Qiang CHEN.
