The University of Macau (UM) Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) continues to demonstrate its research excellence in the 2025 Best Scientists Ranking released by Research.com, with three FHS professors have been named to the list and ranked within the top 20 in China. The top-ranked scientists, who have been recognised for their outstanding scientific research and academic contributions, are Dean Chuxia DENG, Associate Dean Hanming SHEN and Head of the Department of Public Health and Medicinal Administration Yutao XIANG.

Prof Chuxia DENG leads the way, rising to 1st in China and 142nd globally in Biology and Biochemistry among more than 97,000 scientists worldwide. He also secured the 8th national position in Medicine. Prof Hanming SHEN made significant progress in Biology and Biochemistry, moving up to 17th in China while Prof Yutao XIANG advanced to 11th nationally in Psychology.

This achievement highlights the global significance of the professors’ research, reinforcing their expertise in their respective disciplines and their prominent standing across China and internationally. It also reflects the faculty’s steadfast dedication to advancing scientific knowledge, motivating its scholars to pursue innovations that contribute meaningfully to the betterment of human health and society.
