In an effort to support local healthcare institutions and save lives, the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) is thrilled to announce the upcoming Blood Donation Day next Tuesday, 30th January. This marks the inaugural station of a series of Blood Donation Days throughout the year, coordinated by the Office of Health, Safety and Environmental Affairs (HSEO), UM. This meaningful event aims to raise awareness about the critical need for blood donations and encourage individuals to contribute to this lifesaving cause.

HSEO has organised several sessions of Blood Donation Day in the past year, and is now outreaching to faculties to further spread this noble cause. The 1st station of the series is the FHS. A team of highly trained medical professionals from the Macao Blood Transfusion Service (MBTS) will be present in Learning Commons (E12 G/F) of FHS for a safe and comfortable donation process for all participants. This activity is open to not only all UM staff and students, but also any UM visitors.

Donors will have the opportunity to engage with healthcare experts, and receive valuable information about their own health. In addition, various souvenirs will be given to 1st-time donors as well as frequent donors. Those donate blood twice within 1 year will be given a movie ticket.
