On 12th September, Prof. Abdussalam AZEM, Dean of the George S. Wise Faculty of Life Sciences, Tel Aviv University and Mr. Meir BUBER, Senior Executive For Resource Development and Public Affairs Division, Tel Aviv University accompanied by Ms. Amanda LOU, Officer, Science and Technology Development Fund, MSAR visited the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS), UM and were warmly received by Prof. Chuxia DENG, Dean of FHS and Prof. Renhe XU, Associate Dean (Research) of FHS.

Both parties had an in-depth discussion on higher education and scientific research. Prof. DENG and Prof. XU shared FHS’s latest developments with the guests and Prof. William Chong Hang CHAO, Prof. Terence Chuen Wai POON, Prof. Vivien Ya-Fan WANG and Prof. Qi ZHAO introduced their research work to the guests. Prof. AZEM also showed the latest achievements of the George S. Wise Faculty of Life Sciences. Prof. AZEM praised FHS for its effort in scientific research, training of high-calibre professionals and internationalisation of the faculty. The guests expressed their hope for broader collaboration with FHS. Both parties look forward to working out some cooperation in the near future, especially on student exchange and research collaboration.

The delegation then visited the core facilities and the aquatic room of FHS accompanied by Prof. POON. The guests were impressive by the research achievements and facilities of FHS.

The George S. Wise Faculty of Life Sciences founded in 1956 is the oldest school at Tel Aviv University with more than 3,000 students studying in the six departments and was equipped with 94 laboratories. Tel Aviv University is ranked 1st in Israel and 75th in the world for nearly 200 publications published each year by the George S. Wise Faculty of Life Sciences.
