UM and Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology (SIAT) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) recently held their first forum. During the forum, both parties had in-depth discussions on launching joint training programmes, information technology, life sciences, and other related topics. Both parties expressed hope to combine their strengths to deepen cooperation between Guangdong and Macao, in order to develop the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area into a leading international centre for technology transfer.

The two-day forum was hosted by UM’s Institute of Collaborative Innovation (ICI) and co-organised by FST and FHS. Prof. Hanming SHEN, Chair Professor of FHS, and Prof. Tzu-Ming LIU, Associate Professor of FHS shared the novel mechanisms in control of Mitophagy and recent research achievements in ultrafast biomedical optics respectively in the forum. Besides, Prof. Ren-He Xu, Associate Dean (Research) of FHS, oriented the guests the latest developments, academic programmes and the research achievements of FHS. Prof. Chuxia DENG, Dean of FHS, introduced the core facilities to the guests and guided them to the aquatic room and the rodent room of the Animal Research Core. FHS Associate Professor, Terence Chuen Wai POON, Senior Instructor, Li WANG and Operation Manager, Zheyu CAI also escorted the guests during their visit to the laboratories of FHS.
