UM held the first online Open Day on 16 January, the Faculty of Health Sciences attracted around 130 people participant in. FHS delivered an online science talk to stimulate participants’ interest in discovering science knowledge by Assistant Professor Wakam CHANG, entitled “The Beauty of Cells”. He introduced the structure of the cells and guided the participants to observe the organelles used by different microscopes, such as electron microscope, optical microscope, fluorescence microscope, scanning electron microscope, etc. He explained the role of the organelles and indicated the cells as the basic unit of the organism and study the cell motility which can help to explore in-depth in the future.
After the science talk, Associate Professor Terence Chuen Wai POON gave an admission talk, and shared the infrastructure and development of FHS, research achievements, the curricula of the programmes, graduate prospects, the different learning opportunities and the different joint programmes offered by FHS. The students were so engaged in the admission talk, and they raised a lot of questions about the programmes. In respondse to the students’ questions, Prof. Poon encouraged the students prepare better their English literacy for their future study at UM.
